First Citizens BancShares Inc., parent company of First Citizens Bank, made its debut on the Fortune 500™ list of the largest companies in the US by revenue. First Citizens ranked 182nd overall on the 2024 Fortune 500 list and 24th on its list of fastest-growing companies for 2024.

First Citizens was ranked 20th among America's Best Banks for 2024 by Forbes. The 15th annual list analyzed banks' growth, credit quality and profitability for the 2023 calendar year, as well as stock performance in the 12 months through March 18, 2024.

First Citizens maintained Greenwich Excellence and Best Brand award status for 2023, reaffirming the company as a leader in middle market banking and small business banking. Additionally, First Citizens ranked among the top five nationally in overall recognition out of more than 500 banks evaluated—earning six awards in the Middle Market Banking category and receiving 11 national awards and three regional awards in the Small Business Banking category. First Citizens was named a Best Practices Top Performer by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, or Big "I". The purpose of the Best Practices study is to compile the operating statistics of the country's leading agents and brokers. To achieve this objective, the agencies included in the annual study must first be nominated for participation by an insurance carrier or a Big "I" state-affiliated association.

The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top work environments for technology professionals by Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, DEI, future of work, training and retention. In addition, the rankings are reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts.

GOBankingRates Best Banks 2023 scores and rankings are objectively determined by their research and editorial team. Their scoring formula weighs several factors that differ from category to category depending on what consumers want from varying products and banks.
