BOB Transaction Authenticator

General Questions

Google Authenticator is a smartphone app designed for out of band transaction authentication, used to protect your wire and ACH transactions against fraud and to protect your account information. It provides a six-digit soft key token (code) to secure financial transactions before they are sent to the bank.
Google Authenticator is used for processing ACH and Wire transactions within BOB Advantage®, and also for accessing the Admin area within BOB Advantage.
Yes. These two items combined will provide greater security than 2CHK. Trusteer Rapport provides protection against fraud and malware while Google Authenticator secures your ACH and Wire transactions by providing out of band transaction authentication.
No. Google Authenticator combined with IBM's® Trusteer RapportTM (which we previously have asked you to download and install on your desktops) has replaced 2CHK. With Google Authenticator, you will not need to regularly re-associate as with 2CHK in the past. You may uninstall your 2CHK app once you have registered your Google Authenticator app.
Google Authenticator may be required to process wire and ACH transactions via BOB Advantage. We strongly recommend that you install Google Authenticator on your smart phone when prompted within BOB Advantage.
No. You will simply scan a barcode within BOB Advantage, when prompted, to register Google Authenticator and get your six digit verification code.
